They are Irish… and they are so very close in age!
Just 14 1/2 months apart!
I am told they will be “friends for life,” so excited to see them grow into little buddies.
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him!” Psalm 127:3
babooshka: from Russian: ба́бушка meaning “grandmother”
Last week we celebrated Kinsley and Elijah’s babooshka! She is the heart of our family. Her beauty, warmth, sincerity of spirit, and creativity have marked me as a woman, mother, and wife. We really could not express enough to her what she means to all of us. So… carrot cake, gifts, hugs, and kisses will have to do!
Kinsley and Elijah were so excited to give babooshka their gifts… chief among them sticks, leafs, and a picture that Kinsley drew herself!
Amanda, we love you so much and were so blessed to celebrate your beautiful self last week!
Kinsley said thank you for sharing your strawberries!!XOXO
My kitchen is a mess. Just what a kitchen should be in my honest estimation. I say… the more mess the better the dish!
My dear friend Merri and my mother are coming over tonight to enjoy some delicious zuppa! Pasta Fagioli has always been a favorite of mine! So when the babies retired to their rooms for their afternoon nap I got to cooking!
My inspiration came from one of my most favorite blogs…
I’m trading my pills for juice.
As of late I have decided to hit my health hard with God’s potent remedy… Pure unadulterated juice.
Not the Sunkist kind…
Being that it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we thought we’d celebrate by mixing up a strong elixir of lemon, kale, chard, ginger, carrot, blackberry, spinach, apple, and orange. Now that’s my kind of party!
We are now juicing three times a day, and feeling every bit of it! Energy is up, skin is tight and vibrant, and my joints feel great!
My most beloved of all shoes got a run today.
Six years old… they have seen mile upon mile of prairie path and pavement.
Breathing in God’s fresh air this evening. Just me and Him… like old times.
Thank you God for this race to run with you. Keep me on pace… in step with my Maker.
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with persereverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.”
This is a bit late… but better late than never!
My sweet babies are taking their afternoon nap, so I decided it was high time for some Dove dark chocolate and a little time reminiscing! Oh how I love to “look back!”
This 2014 was welcomed at my parent’s house as we also celebrated my mom’s “29th” birthday!
She never seems to age… the picture of health and youth!
The evening was fabulous… wine, duck with roasted vegetables… and for dessert I whipped up a delicious lemon mousse garnished with fresh blueberries! Check it out! (Super easy)
Here’s to 2014… may it be a year filled to the brim with every good and perfect gift from above!
